Talking Talking: Fuck these pesky people!

as i read the first line, i guessed that *this* is apparently the problem. I know a guy here who's my friend's friend who complained the same thing to us. In his case, it's group of girls. Be stern and stay away from them. Maybe they'll call you a kadoos or something but they do that anyway. one of my friends also got a lot of practical books to complete, though I can draw diagrams well, no guy really approached me and that's not the first time Sometimes i think i have an air about me which says,"I ain't gonna entertain you. Stay away!"

exactly. i don't mind people calling me a khadoos... esp. these people! :P

Dude, *this* is what college teaches you. More so in the high stress courses like Engg and Medical where you are supposed to "co-operate" with each other. And often it happens that people like these survive and go on to get great jobs whereas good students like you are left behind.

Bad advice, but get selfish! The moment you get selfish, these people will call you selfish, khadoos as Freya has already mentioned, proud, etc. etc. but if you don't do that, prepare yourself for quite some frustration later on.

I absolutely agree that people co-operating with each other is a good thing and that relationships in college are what you will cherish for a life-time. But its important to pick the right people for such relationships. And trust me, its easier said than done! If you are in Engg, you will probably discover such gems only in the 8th semester; after having spent 4 years with them. And when you do, hold on to them tightly!! As for the rest of the people, they are better when they are not around.

I won't leave my name here and I have my reasons. Just that we are friends on a popular social networking site.

    Good luck.

Thank you for your advice, 'friend'.
I know, times have changed. Mom tells me, when she was a student, she and her friends used to study together, and used to exchange notes. Not anybody does that anymore. Blame it on population, blame it on competition, or blame it on the breakneck speed with which our lives are changing. One cannot survive in these times by not resorting to selfishness. Your advice is *not* bad, sir!

LOLs, "bhai ko beer pilado. "
    Advice from a capitalist:
still help them out, ask them to clean your car/room. or 'buy-me-a-beer' philosophy.
    2 chapters in quantum mechanics = 10 days pick+drop+coffee
Rock on! end of the day, thats what undergrad meant for.
